On Wednesday 7 October 2026, CC Blankenberge is organising an evening dedicated to the short films of Raoul Servais, at Pier Cinema Blankenberge (Zeedijk 261).
Film expert Wouter Hessels (lecturer in film history at RITCS and INSAS, and film curator) will give an introduction to the life and work of Servais, highlighting his continuous search for formal and technological innovation, placed within a broader film-historical perspective.
This will be followed by a screening of eight short films tracing the development of Servais' body of work: Chromophobia (1966), Goldframe (1969), Pegasus (1973), Harpya (1979), Nocturnal Butterflies (1998), Atraksion (2001), Tank (2015) and Der Lange Kerl (2021, co-directed with Rudy Pinceel).
A discussion will follow the screening.
